KUNIKO’S TERIYAKI
For this project we were tasked with reviving the menu for the restaurant Kuniko’s Teriyaki in Grand Junction, CO. It needed to include all of the original copy and prices, callouts for certain dishes, and a clear heirarchy. This project challenged our existing notions of how a menu should be layed out, allowing us to experiment with placement and grid designs.
CLASSROOM MOUSEPAD
We started off the semester with an in-class design contest. Going from three concepts down to one pushed us to take our ideas further than we thought possible. The idea for this one was tugging on our Gen Z nostalgia. Remember the fake fish tanks that lit up and spun a scene around? Bringing that back, this design gives us a much needed eye and brain break from staring at our Macs for hours on end. Who knows, maybe it’d even spark a bit of joy. This illustration was all done by hand with Procreate. Don’t click too hard, you might break the glass.
MODIFIED TYPEFACE
Bugdoni is a custom display typeface created by reimagining the classic elegance of Bodoni Oldstyle 72 through the intricate, organic lens of entomology. Over the course of a month, we meticulously modified every glyph, infusing each letterform with elements inspired by beetles, bugs, and insect anatomy—antennae, wings, exoskeleton textures, and segmented limbs all subtly emerge from the refined Bodoni base. The result is a strikingly surreal and richly detailed typeface that blends high-contrast sophistication with a tactile, biological edge. Bugdoni pushes the boundaries of typographic design, transforming familiar forms into a typographic cabinet of curiosities.

VINYL QUOTE DECAL
For this project, I designed and installed a large vinyl wall decal in the art building at Colorado Mesa University. The quote, “Words have so much potential,” by contemporary motion designer Mat Voyce, was selected for its powerful message about the impact of typography and storytelling in design. The goal was to feature a quote that was both inspirational and relevant to students in the creative fields, while also highlighting a designer working in today’s industry. I carefully chose the type treatment to reflect Voyce’s energetic style, balancing boldness with clarity to ensure visibility from across the space. The final installation serves as a daily source of motivation and a reminder of how impactful design and language can be. Installation also showed me just how important it was to see my design through, from step A-Z.
